Rajasthan Royals vs Royal Challengers Bangalore

Published by ShaneWarne.com

It was a very forgettable night for the Rajasthan Royals as they suffered another defeat this time at the hands of Royals Challengers Bangalore. The RR team looked a bit out of sorts right form the beginning of the game when RCB won the toss and put RR into bat.

RR went into the game with a new opening pair of Michael Lumb and Naman Ojha. They also drafted Damien Martyn into the playing XI. RR started the game steadily without losing a wicket in the first 5 overs but the pressure to up the scoring rate resulted in losing wickets at regular intervals. The Match came to life when Yusuf Pathan walked in and smashed two huge sixes to get the RR fans going. However, Yusuf could not keep it going for long enough as he was unfortunately run-out again. The lower order of the RR batting succumbed under pressure to get some quick runs and the team ended with a score of 92 runs.

Defending a score of 92, needed a miracle and it was simply not RR’s night. With the new ball Munaf Patel and Morne Morkel struggled to get the initial breakthrough that the team needed badly. The only positive thing that happened for RR was the way Shane Warne bowled. The legendary leg-spinner displayed is customary drift and turn and beat the outside edge a few times but was unlucky not to pick up a wicket.

RR's next take is on the Kolkata Knight Riders. RR would like to forget this match and go to the next match in a positive frame of mind and play uninhibited cricket that made them so successful in the first year's IPL.
