Overview
In the year 2000 I began the process of starting a charity that could make a significant difference to seriously ill and underprivileged children, called The Shane Warne Foundation.
The reason I wanted to do this and get involved was because, over the past decade or so ( 1990 - 2000 ) I had met so many brave children trying to come to terms with their illness and fight it.
Unfortunately, some cannot and it's heartbreaking to see these beautiful children struggling and how it affects them and their families, I wanted to do more.
I am extremely grateful to have 3 wonderful children. Therefore, the simple reason is I want to make a difference - I want more children to smile, beat their illness and help their families live a better life - don't you?
Although I can make a difference on my own, it is only a small difference to what a team of people can do together; with the help of the community and the corporate world along with the foundation team, we can all make a significant difference to so many children.
As Chairman of The Shane Warne Foundation, I am extremely thankful to the support of our Board Members - Ann Peacock, Glenn Robbins, Andrew Bassat and David Evans, our Ambassadors - James Packer, Lloyd Williams, David Coe and Lee Amaitis, our International Patron and Hollywood royalty - Russell Crowe and our Australian Patron who is king of the felt table- Joe Hachem.
These people share my passion in helping enrich the lives of seriously ill and underprivileged children and have contributed their time and effort to the cause we are all very proud of the TSWF achievements so far of
Raising over $5 million and helping over 75 different children's charities.
I am extremely touched when I see people giving generously, whether it be their time turning up to our functions or by way of a donation to help TSWF enrich the lives of the seriously ill and underprivileged children in Australia. Every little bit counts, and every single person can help to make that difference.
If you want to team up with us to help the kids, please visit the foundation website at www.tswf.com.au I look forward to seeing you at one of our events soon. Please help and get behind us and support us in our cause to make a difference.
Thank you
Shane
