Sri Lanka v New Zealand
Sri Lanka would have entered this match as slight favourites but never underestimate the fight in the Kiwi’s!!
Thanks to a great all-round performance from Nathan McCullum, some tight bowling from Dan Vettori, well done mate, and some big hitting from Jesse Ryder, the Kiwi’s came out on top.
Sri Lanka couldn’t capitalise on Jayawardene’s great innings and now need to ensure they beat Zimbabwe to get through to the next stage.
West Indies V Ireland
I was curious how the second tier of teams would fair in this tournament as the shorter the game the more likely they are to be able to be competitive. However, the Windies showed how much Ireland still need to come to match the full International teams.
Sammy starred for the Windies, who can only get better considering Gayle didn't play and Pollard didn't get going. By the way, does everyone else wonder why he isn’t utilised earlier in their innings?
The Windies may be a dark horse for the tournament!!
