Another one slips away
A flat track, stacks of runs and another loss.
After losing the toss we went into the field knowing that this was going to be a run fest. However, we never thought we would allow them to get so many!!
Whilst it was a great batting strip, our bowlers just could not bowl a consistent enough line and length to curtail the hitting of Vijay and Albie Morkel.
We got sloppy in the field under the weight of the onslaught instead of lifting to back up the bowlers who had a tough ask.
All-round, our performance in the field just was not good enough.
In reply we made a great effort. Unfortunately, like the opening match against Mumbai, we came up short.
Ojha and Watto were superb but when you are chasing such a big score, you need everyone to be scoring at that rate.
We had a couple of little patches where we were contained which ended up being the difference.
Full credit to Doug Bollinger too, he bowled beautifully.
We are now 4 wins and 5 losses. We need to get another streak happening if we want to make the finals.
